Genetics Expert Named LSU Boyd Professor
BATON ROUGE---Mark A. Batzer, Ph.D, an internationally-recognized genetics researcher and Professor of Biological Sciences at LSU, today was named an LSU System Boyd Professor, the System’s highest academic rank.
Batzer, who holds the title of Dr. Mary Lou Applewhite Distinguished Professor in Biological Sciences, becomes the 66th LSU System faculty member to achieve Boyd status in the 55 years since the honor was created. Read story.

Request for Proposals number 2006-LINK *pdf
Proposals Due: Open Deadline until June 30,2007
The Board of Regents and Louisiana EPSCoR has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP number 2006-LINK) for Links with Industry, Research Centers, and National Labs. This program provides up to $500.00 per week, not to exceed a total of $6,000, for applicants' subsistence (e.g., lodging, meals, etc.) while visiting and training at an industrial facility, research center or national laboratory. Duration of the visits must range from a minimum of two (2) weeks to a maximum of twelve (12) weeks. In addition, a maximum of $1,000 in transportation cost reimbursements, limited to one round trip, will be provided. Applications will be accepted through May 31, 2007 or until such time as allotted funds have been expended. Please distribute the RFP widely to appropriate individuals.
